Compliance is the heart of everything we do at Australian Investment and Insurance Group. All our systems and processes are designed to assist advisers to maintain compliance at all times. The best interest duty is the statutory requirement for advisers to prioritise the interest of their clients over all other interests. The best interest duty is measured by what is known as a ‘reasonable adviser test’.
We believe that the best way to approach a reasonable adviser test is to review all advice before it goes to the client. Our head office applies two levels of review to all statements of advice and record of advice prepared by our advisors. We have a team of qualified people supporting the adviser with the strategy of the advice, the product research and the preparation of the SoA before giving that advice to the client. This allows us to be very confident that the SoA will meet the required industry standard. This is an enormous commitment on our behalf and it brings great peace of mind to all of our advisors. Our priority number one is ensuring that all of our advisers are fully supported in running their practice when it comes to compliance.
Our Focus on Compliance means our commitment to ensure that every AIIG adviser is conforming with their obligations under the Corporations Act as well as all other regulations, codes of conduct, and ASIC issued Regulatory Guides. Our aim is to support every adviser in complying with all relevant industry laws, policies and regulations in order to be running a compliant financial planning practice where the best interest of the client is prioritized at all times. Due to the increasing number of industry regulations and our desire to be operational transparent we continue to invest our resources in implementing a system that prioritises the interest of the client and the advisers compliance obligations across our dealer group. We believe that this approach provides an extra level of security to advisers and their clients who can be sure that we are doing everything in our power to stay within the letter and the spirit of the relevant laws and regulations. We are very confident that our approach will deliver value to our advisers as well as being beneficial to the financial planning industry more broadly.
Our advisory team can provide you all the business support you need to run a successful financial planning practice the way you want; we have a team of dedicated experts that will direct you to develop and implementing the growth of your practice keeping the main focus in compliance. In our view business development is the creation of long term relationship and value between you and your clients.
